TV WRITER. DIRECTOR. COMEDIAN.
Hailing from the dirty Jers, Brooke Ross is a TV writer and short film director dedicated to telling unrestrained female-led stories that find humor in the dark and taboo. Brooke has had the pleasure of being part of the Brutus Pink camp for the last three years, working on BIG MOUTH, HUMAN RESOURCES, MATING SEASON, and is currently writing an episode for the UNTITLED VICTOR QUINAZ animated comedy series for Netflix.
Brooke studied Film & Television Production at the University of Southern California. There she had the pleasure of being nominated to produce her senior classes’ thesis film BOOB SWEAT (2018), which received distribution from Omeleto. After graduation, Brooke went on to write and direct FEELING SEXUAL, which opened for the 2019 SXSW Jury-Award winning film SH*THOUSE at The Ace DTLA’s Cinema Series as well as for SHIVA BABY’s The Future of Film is Female screening.
After being selected to participate in Seed&Spark’s PitchFest event, Brooke received funding for her next short film BIRD FOOD from the great Mark Duplass. BIRD FOOD went on to screen at the likes of the DeadCenter and Broad Humor Film Festival. Similar to her shorts, Brooke makes sense of her world and neuroses through her writing, including in her short article “Independent Young Woman Seeking Car, Wedding, Divorce” recently published in Cusper Magazine, a biannual culture and lit print publication.
When Brooke isn't at work googling if "ball sack" is one or two words, she can be found writing love letters to all her favorite doctors.
